  • Several Bats Die In Madhya Pradesh’s Panna Due To Heatwave |

The rising temperatures are not just taking a toll on human life across India but also affecting wildlife including birds and animals. In Madhya Pradesh’s Panna, the increasing heat has led to the deaths of numerous bats, as they fell from the banyan trees around the Dahlen pond.

The temperature in Panna has been hovering around 42 degrees Celsius over the past few days. This excessive heat has proven fatal for many bats, which have been found dead and fallen to the ground beneath the trees.

The death of multiple bats aroused curiosity among the local residents as they gathered to witness the distressing scene. In response, the municipal authorities have taken precautionary measures by collecting the dead bats and disposing of them in garbage trucks.

The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert warning of severe heatwave conditions in parts of Madhya Pradesh. “There is a possibility of severe heatwave in Gwalior, Bhind, Datia, Morena and Niwari districts in the state. A red alert has been issued in these areas and the temperature here today will be around 46/47 degrees celsius,” said the IMD.

The state capital Bhopal and Vidisha can also experience the heatwave and the temperature is likely to hit 44 to 45 degrees celsius. Other regions in the state that may experience heatwave are Vidisha, Raisen, Sehore, Rajgarh, Bhopal, Khandwa, Khargone, Shajapur, Agar Malwa, Guna, Ashoknagar, Shivpuri, Sheopur, Singrauli, Sidhi, Rewa, Mauganj, Satna, Maihar, Anuppur, Shahdol, Umaria, Katni, Panna, Damoh, Sagar, Chhatarpur and Tikamgarh.

  • Madhya Pradesh Woman, Who Accused Local BJP Leader Of Sexual Assault, Dies Under Mysterious Circumstance; Congress Slams Saffron Party |

SAGAR: Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh on Monday demanded the removal of the collector and superintendent of police of Madhya Pradesh’s Sagar district after the sister of a slain Dalit youth died under mysterious circumstances. Terming the incident heart-rending, senior Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said on X that BJP leaders are after the Constitution because they don’t want women, Dalits, ST and backwards to live with dignity in the country.

“And they won’t get an opportunity to be heard’ wherever atrocities on women are committed Narendra Modi (Prime Minister) and his government saved the accused. If the sisters against whom atrocities are committed demanded justice, then their families are devastated. The women of the country won’t sit silent anymore,” she wrote.

Singh reached the Barodia Nonagir village to meet the family members of Anjana Ahirwar who died on Sunday after falling from an ambulance carrying her uncle’s body. The administration promised to give Anjana a government job, did they give her one? They made some other promises too like demolishing houses (of the accused), did they demolish? …I am not in favour of bulldozing someone’s house, but you demolish many persons’ houses in the name of action, he said.

Singh spoke to Anjana’s family sitting next to her body and later took part in her funeral. Anjana’s uncle Rajendra Ahirwar was beaten to death on May 25 by some persons over an old enmity, police sources said. Anjana had alleged that her brother Nitin Ahirwar, alias Lalu, was killed in August last year by some people who used to harass her.

Anjana died on Sunday after she fell from an ambulance carrying her uncle’s body in Sagar. Singh demanded the removal of the entire district administration, including the collector and superintendent of police (SP), over the incident. The woman’s family members told Singh that the security provided to them was removed by the administration and even cameras installed in their area were taken away.

Anjana was an educated woman and was taking care of the family. She is no more today and I am very disappointed, Singh said. The Congress leader claimed police security was removed 10 days before the present incident. A lot of pressure was exerted on them to change their statements, he said.
There were three witnesses to the murder of Lalu..One Rajendra, another one was Anjana and third her mother.

Rajendra was killed because he did not come under pressure. And Anjana died, Singh said. Anjana had complained to the police a few days back about mounting pressure to change their statement but cops did not act on it, he alleged. Since the beginning, Anjana had maintained that one Ankit Thakur was involved in the incident, but he was not arrested as he is a muscleman and has been given shelter politically, Singh claimed.

Rajendra Ahirwar (24) died of injuries he had sustained in a clash between two groups under Khurai police station limits, Additional Superintendent of Police Lokesh Sinha earlier told reporters. Anjana fell from the ambulance carrying the body of Rajendra Ahirwar to their village after the postmortem in Sagar. Their family members were accompanying the body, said Sinha. When asked if Rajendra Ahirwar was killed due to pressure for compromise in the old case, Sinha said all facts would come out during the investigation.

Nitin Ahirwar was allegedly beaten to death by a group of people over an old enmity in Sagar district last August. Following his death, Anjana Ahirwar lodged an FIR alleging her brother was murdered as some persons were pressuring her for a compromise in the harassment case.

  • Speculation mounts as Congress MLAs close to Kamal Nath arrive in Delhi amid rumors of BJP switch

Around half a dozen Madhya Pradesh MLAs, known for their allegiance to senior Congress leader Kamal Nath, arrived in Delhi on Sunday amid speculation that both Kamal Nath and his MP son Nakul Nath are poised to join the BJP.

Out of these MLAs, three hail from Chhindwara, with another three from the same region reportedly en route to Delhi, sources close to the seasoned leader told PTI. Kamal Nath, a nine-time MP from Chhindwara and the current MLA from the constituency, faced the removal as the state president of the Congress after the party’s lackluster performance in the November Assembly polls.

Despite attempts to contact these MLAs, they remained elusive, and it is suggested that Lakhan Ghangoriya, a Nath loyalist and former state minister, is accompanying them in Delhi.Expressing discontent over Kamal Nath’s removal, Deepak Saxena, a former MP minister and Nath loyalist, emphasized the need for the leader to be treated with respect. Saxena asserted that regardless of Nath’s decision, their support would remain unwavering.

“We want out leader to be accorded all respect. Whatever decision he takes, we will be with him,” Saxena said.

Another Nath loyalist, former state minister Vikram Verma, wrote ‘Jai Shri Ram’ in his X profile.”I will follow Kamal Nath,” Verma, a former MP, had told reporters on Saturday.Amidst these developments, efforts are underway by the Nath camp to secure the backing of 23 MLAs to avoid the application of anti-defection laws. Currently, the Congress holds 66 seats in the 230-member Assembly of Madhya Pradesh.

This situation draws parallels with the events of March 2020 when another senior Congress leader, Jyotiraditya Scindia, along with several loyal MLAs, defected to the BJP, resulting in the downfall of the Congress-led government helmed by Kamal Nath. The political landscape in Madhya Pradesh continues to witness dynamic shifts as these political developments unfold.

  • Congress never opposed Ram temple, BJP, RSS used Babri issue for political mileage: Digvijaya Singh

Congress veteran Digvijaya Singh on Tuesday alleged that the intention of the BJP, RSS and VHP behind demolishing the Babri mosque in Ayodhya was not to build a temple at the site, but to make it a Hindu-Muslim issue for political mileage.

In a post on social media platform X, the former Madhya Pradesh chief minister claimed the Congress never opposed the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, but raised question marks over the location of the new temple, where the idol consecration ceremony will take place on January 22.

“(The Congress) only asked to wait till the court’s decision for the construction (of temple) on the disputed land. Bhoomi pujan on non-disputed land was done during the time of Rajiv ji (former PM Rajiv Gandhi). (Ex-PM P V) Narasimha Rao ji had also acquired non-disputed land for the construction of Ram temple,” Singh said. He alleged the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) had to demolish the mosque anyway, but their intention was not to build a temple at the site.

“…Because, until the mosque is demolished, it does not become a Hindu-Muslim issue. Destruction is in their behaviour and character; taking political advantage by spreading unrest is their strategy,” said the Rajya Sabha member, hitting out at the saffron organisations.

When contacted, state BJP spokesman Pankaj Chaturvedi dubbed Singh as “Ram drohi” (anti-Lord Ram) and claimed the Congress leader and his party were against Sanatan Dharma. He said the erstwhile Congress-led UPA government, in an affidavit submitted in the Supreme Court, had called Lord Ram an “imaginary” figure. Singh should clarify how long he will continue to be “anti-Sanatan Dharma and Ram drohi”, asked Chaturvedi.
