Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Monday distributed 40 electric bicycles free of cost to women employees in Ujjain as part of efforts to cut fuel consumption and promote eco-friendly mobility. The move comes at a time when global energy prices are rising sharply, making electric vehicles an increasingly viable option. Addressing the gathering, CM Yadav said the state government remains focused on women’s empowerment and wants every woman in Madhya Pradesh to lead a life of comfort and dignity. He credited the Ujjain district administration for arranging the cycles through corporate social responsibility funds and thanked the supplier company for supporting the initiative. The Chief Minister also highlighted the third consecutive year of intensive water conservation work under the Jal Ganga Sanrakshan Abhiyan. Projects worth more than Rs 10,000 crore are being executed across the state, covering rivers, lakes, wells, and traditional water bodies. Madhya Pradesh has been recognised nationally for these efforts. He further noted that the Ganga Dussehra festival at Bhojshala in Dhar was celebrated peacefully and that the state is ensuring smooth implementation of the recent High Court order concerning the site.
