In a vibrant celebration of nature’s bounty, Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav launched the Shri Mahakal Van Mela in Ujjain, spotlighting forest products as a game-changer for tribal empowerment. Blessed by divine graces in Lord Krishna’s ancient learning ground, the event builds on Bhopal’s Van Mela success.
Yadav passionately spoke of forests’ timeless role in health and sustenance. This mela fosters awareness and delivers economic upliftment to dedicated tribal communities. ‘Forests embody our natural life philosophy—an extravagant festival of wellness,’ he proclaimed.
With 50+ expert vaidyas providing consultations, the fair showcases mahua-based premium products. Forests transcend resources; in Sanatan Dharma, they underpin health and culture. The legendary Sanjeevani revival of Lakshman exemplifies ancient India’s profound herbal expertise.
Yadav traced Ayurveda’s roots from Dhanvantari to Charaka and Sushruta, crediting forest herbs for iconic remedies like Chyawanprash and superfoods such as ashwagandha, amla, harra, and baheda. Modern miracles shone during COVID, where AYUSH kadhas eclipsed costly pharmaceuticals, earning global trust.
PM Modi’s vision has propelled AYUSH internationally, transforming niche forest topics into worldwide conversations. Tribals now access prime sales platforms via the mela, linking their diligence and heritage to contemporary commerce.
Spanning six days, the expo boasts 250 stalls blending aakathiya vanopaj, rural enterprises, herbal ventures, preservation efforts, processing innovations, and marketing strategies. Breakdown: 76 tribal committee stalls, 76 private, 16 departmental, 16 food courts. Free Ayurvedic clinics at 50 stalls feature 50 MDs and 100 folk healers. Highlights include live crafts like leaf plates and grass ropes, plus stalls brimming with mahua, sal seeds, amla, jamun, and more.
The mela not only celebrates Madhya Pradesh’s green legacy but fortifies tribal economies, proving forests are engines of prosperity and health.
