In a prestigious ceremony in New Delhi on April 23, India rolled out the branding for its upcoming fourth India-Africa Forum Summit, slated for May 31. Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar led the launch of the logo, theme, and website, with African diplomats in attendance, marking a key milestone in South-South cooperation.

The event spotlighted India’s transformative journey. Morocco’s envoy Mohammad Maliki praised New Delhi’s rapid economic and political ascent, positioning it as a Global South powerhouse with G20 access benefiting African nations. ‘Our relations are vast, and this summit will make them tangible,’ he remarked.

Zimbabwe’s Ambassador Stella Nkomo reflected on deep-rooted ties, strengthened by India’s support during her country’s liberation fight. She anticipates the summit will unlock fresh avenues in bilateral trade, investment, and development sectors, building on enduring goodwill.

Kenya’s representative Peter Maina Munyiri called the forum essential for solidifying partnership pillars, expecting breakthroughs in commerce and beyond. As leaders from 54 African nations converge with Indian counterparts and AU officials, the summit aims to outline actionable strategies for multifaceted collaboration.

Jaishankar’s poignant words resonated: Africa’s struggles mirrored India’s own, and true progress lies in collective advancement. This initiative underscores India’s commitment to equitable global growth, fostering a robust India-Africa alliance amid shifting world dynamics.
