A horrific case of long-term exploitation and an attempt on life has surfaced in Bokaro, Jharkhand, leading to an intensive police manhunt for a local man. The victim, a 28-year-old resident of the Gandhinagar police jurisdiction, has come forward with allegations that paint a picture of severe betrayal spanning ten years. The accused, Sunil Ravidas, allegedly manipulated the victim during her student years, maintaining a physical relationship with the promise of marriage. However, this promise was never fulfilled; instead, the victim claims Ravidas used explicit recordings of her to exert control and prevent her from seeking help or marriage from others.
The ordeal almost ended in tragedy on April 17 when Ravidas allegedly attempted to kill the victim by poisoning her during a trip to Ranchi. After falling severely ill, she was treated at Medanta Hospital, where medical professionals identified toxic substances in her system, confirming the poisoning attempt. While the victim was recovering, Ravidas allegedly made arrangements to marry another woman in Topchanchi, Dhanbad, scheduled for late April. Upon receiving the victim’s complaint, the Gandhinagar police immediately filed an FIR and dispatched teams to locate the fleeing suspect. In a significant move, the authorities also reached out to the family of the woman Ravidas was planning to marry, informing them of the grave charges he faces.
