In a significant development for China’s green energy sector, Tibet reported a 23.9% rise in exports of new energy vehicles, solar panels, and lithium batteries during the first quarter. The Lhasa Customs data reveals exports totaling 72.734 million yuan, up sharply from last year.

Breaking it down, lithium battery exports skyrocketed by 3.48 times, and new energy vehicles climbed 25.1%. This growth reflects strategic enhancements in Tibet’s South Asia trade corridor, including route modernizations and optimized port environments that have slashed bottlenecks.

Lhasa Customs played a pivotal role by introducing customized support measures based on product traits and business demands. These steps have not only accelerated clearances but also boosted exporter confidence amid rising global demand for renewables.

Future strategies include deeper reforms in supervision protocols, smarter port tech integrations, and stronger links to South Asian markets. By doing so, Tibet aims to channel a flood of high-tech Chinese goods over its snowy passes, positioning itself as a linchpin in regional green energy supply chains.
