In a series of strategic meetings in New Delhi, Japan’s LDP Policy Research Council chief Takayuki Kobayashi underscored the need to elevate India-Japan relations to new heights before concluding his visit on Monday.

Kobayashi’s final engagement was with Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, where they reiterated the pivotal role of their partnership and committed to expanded collaboration across key sectors, as shared by the MEA on X.

Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal’s earlier meeting with the delegation delved into trade enhancement strategies. Topics included bolstering economic ties, MSME collaborations, and joint ventures in auto, infra, pharma, and high-tech manufacturing.

Goyal highlighted on X the focus on increasing Indian exports, improving market access, and India’s dedication to a superior business climate via CEPA and Indo-Pacific initiatives.

BJP chief JP Nadda met the group on Sunday for insightful discussions on amplifying inter-party exchanges and sharing best practices. Both sides renewed vows to deepen bilateral relations.

Post-meeting, Kobayashi posted on X praising the civilizational depth of both nations and the necessity of enhanced security, economic, and people-centric ties for regional stability. He confirmed agreements on party-level cooperation with Nadda.

With supply chains realigning globally, India’s appeal as an investment hub grows, especially for Japanese SMEs teaming up with local MSMEs to drive innovation and expansion.
