Chief Minister Shri Sai Congratulates

Historic Achievement Through Public Participation in Education, Health, and Security

Raipur, May 1, 2026/
The positive results of the continuous efforts being made by the Chhattisgarh government to empower Panchayats are now clearly visible at the state level. Amidst initiatives undertaken to effectively implement schemes and ensure benefits reach the last person, Gram Panchayat Kachhiya, under Janpad Panchayat Wadrafnagar in Balrampur-Ramanujganj district, has achieved a notable accomplishment, establishing its unique identity across the state.
Gram Panchayat Kachhiya has secured the first position in the state by scoring 95.71 marks in Theme-3 (Child-Friendly Panchayat) out of the 9 themes in the PAI 2.0 survey under the localization of Sustainable Development Goals. This achievement is a matter of pride not only for the district but for the entire Chhattisgarh.

On this achievement, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma, and the district’s in-charge minister Smt. Lakshmi Rajwade congratulated the public representatives, Panchayat staff, and villagers of Gram Panchayat Kachhiya, calling it an inspiration for other Panchayats in the state. They stated that this success is an excellent example of the spirit of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” (Everyone’s Support, Everyone’s Development) and a public participation-based development model.

Gram Panchayat Kachhiya has developed a holistic child-friendly environment by prioritizing children’s education, health, sanitation, and security. A total of 155 children are studying in the Panchayat’s primary and middle schools, with a significant number of girls. The Panchayat is continuously making efforts to protect children’s rights, increase school attendance, improve sanitation, and ensure nutrition and safety.

Regular inspection of schools by Panchayat representatives, coordination with the School Management Committee, sanitation campaigns, safe drinking water facilities, health awareness, and prioritizing child-related issues in Gram Sabhas have been the key foundations of this success. Coordination with Anganwadi centers has led to a special focus on an anemia-free Panchayat, 100% vaccination, and maternal nutrition.

In the initial phase, children’s education was affected due to migration, economic conditions, and lack of awareness. The Panchayat overcame these challenges through door-to-door contact, parent-teacher dialogues, regular review meetings, and community awareness.

The Gram Panchayat has prepared a concrete action plan to give a permanent form to child-friendly activities, which includes ensuring 100% enrollment, zero dropout, regular monitoring, sanitation campaigns, and child safety.
