In a tragic turn of events in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district, a 28-year-old man named Sanjeet Thakur was found dead under suspicious circumstances at his in-laws’ residence. Sanjeet, who worked as a carpenter in another state, had returned home specifically to attend his sister-in-law’s wedding. According to reports, he had reached his father-in-law’s house in Chandpura village just days before the scheduled ceremonies. However, the celebrations were cut short when his body was found, leading to allegations of foul play by his primary relatives.

The brother of the deceased, Anil Kumar, has leveled serious accusations against the in-laws, claiming they were constantly pressuring Sanjeet for expensive gifts and cash. The family alleges that Sanjeet was forced to purchase a lehenga and a dressing table, and was being harassed to provide an additional two lakh rupees in cash. Sanjeet had reportedly even contacted his maternal uncle shortly before his death, expressing fears for his life and safety within the household.

The victim’s family further alleged that Sanjeet’s wife was also assaulted and found in an unconscious state. They believe that the physical injuries found on Sanjeet’s body are clear indicators of a violent struggle and murder. The Deoria police are currently investigating these claims while awaiting the autopsy results. The local administration has assured the family that every angle, including the allegations of extortion and physical abuse, is being thoroughly examined.
