Saharanpur reels under the shadow of a double homicide that exposed a web of romance, deceit, and political connections. In a swift operation, police arrested BJP leader Sudhars Chauhan, identified as the prime accused in the killings of DUDA official Vikrant and his lover Rakhi Kashyap.
The nightmare began when Rakhi’s body surfaced on April 27 in a canal near Naugawan, crammed into a choker sack and roped shut, dumped in a remote spot after scouts confirmed no witnesses. Forensic leads from the sack and rope propelled the investigation forward.
Vikrant, posted in Baghpat since 2018, left office on April 15, never to return. His phone went silent, prompting wife Prachi’s missing report. Rakhi, previously grilled over their affair, vanished soon after. Her licensed pistol was seized during questioning.
Digging deeper, cops uncovered Vikrant’s hefty bank withdrawal and a burnt car. Rakhi’s history included multiple marriages, evictions, court fights, and a recent courthouse brawl. A pre-disappearance party linked her, Vikrant, and Chauhan.
