The suspense in West Bengal thickens as assembly polls conclude and results loom on May 4. BJP’s fiery state chief Samik Bhattacharya broke his silence on Friday, asserting that Mamata Banerjee’s decade-and-a-half rule is over, paving the way for a BJP government.
Lashing out at Banerjee’s video rants questioning poll fairness, Bhattacharya called it desperate drama. “People are fed up. It’s time for something new. She can’t accept leaving power. Under PM Modi, BJP’s double-engine regime will span from Gangotri to Ganga Sagar—fate’s decree, unchangeable.”
He hailed the historic moment: Shyama Prasad Mukherjee’s land birthing his ideological heir in government. “Bengal’s voters decided ages ago—no Mamata comeback. Even expatriates from distant lands like Finland returned to vote her out.”
Bhattacharya didn’t shy from realities, highlighting TMC’s deep-rooted corruption over 15 years. “They’ve poisoned every layer of society. Her current theatrics? Just rehearsal for street life after palace comforts.”
Turning reflective, he lauded Banerjee’s journey from obscurity to power, forged in adversity. “Born outside elite circles, she rose through struggle, knows the earth’s pulse. She foresees her party’s doom, hence the ominous stage warning: ‘If TMC endures, watch out.’ Mamata grasps Bengal’s electoral soul like no other.”
