The nation pauses to honor Srinivasa Ramanujan, the legendary mathematician whose intuitive genius produced thousands of theorems without formal training. Marking his punya tithi on April 26, top political figures from various states shared moving tributes on social media, celebrating his role in elevating India’s stature in global academia.

In a stirring message on X, UP CM Yogi Adityanath offered humble respects to the ‘world-renowned genius.’ He emphasized Ramanujan’s priceless service to the country, noting how it lights the way for knowledge seekers and fuels innovation among the youth.

UP Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya hailed him as the ‘magician of numbers’ who glorified India internationally. ‘His exceptional discoveries continue to direct science forward, inspiring young people to pursue inquiry and breakthroughs,’ Maurya posted.

Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav focused on Ramanujan’s staggering output of over 3,500 new formulas, which he said will forever spur brilliant students into research endeavors. Uttarakhand’s Pushkar Singh Dhami bowed to the prodigy whose exceptional thinking brought worldwide acclaim to India, presenting his life as a model of commitment and achievement.

Chhattisgarh’s Arun Sao depicted Ramanujan as transcending mere mathematics to invent a novel numerical dialect. ‘Real genius needs no resources; his ideals push us to boldly surpass boundaries,’ he remarked. Delhi’s Manjinder Singh Sirsa admired the savant’s research zeal that defied limitations, proving dedication’s supremacy.

Ramanujan’s brief life (1887-1920) overflowed with miracles. Partnering with Hardy at Cambridge, he authored papers still studied today, influencing modern computing and theoretical physics. These tributes not only commemorate a pioneer but also spotlight India’s need to foster innate talent amid today’s educational challenges, ensuring more Ramanujans emerge.
