West Bengal’s political landscape is heating up as the second phase of assembly elections approaches on April 29. BJP’s former national president and Union Minister JP Nadda, fresh from a high-energy roadshow in Raina, exuded confidence in a post-event interaction. He claimed the electorate’s resolve to dismantle the Mamata Banerjee government is now irreversible.

Reflecting on the inaugural phase, Nadda described it as a resounding public mandate against TMC’s misrule. Issues like systemic corruption, bribery, and widespread plundering have pushed the common man to the brink, fueling anti-incumbency. ‘The voters have already decided in the first round,’ Nadda asserted.

He foresaw an even stronger performance in the upcoming phase, predicting a decisive BJP victory. ‘Mamata’s team senses the defeat looming large,’ he said, with full clarity expected on May 4. Nadda ridiculed Banerjee’s national posturing while her regional stronghold crumbles, calling out her disconnect from ground realities.

Envisioning a future under BJP’s dual governance model, Nadda promised rapid infrastructure growth and welfare schemes akin to other BJP states. The current government’s development paralysis, he argued, has only amplified public discontent. On the opposition’s election commissioner controversy, Nadda remained unfazed: ‘Fair polls expose their fears; nothing will derail the process.’

As campaigns intensify, Nadda’s words underscore BJP’s aggressive push to capture power in Bengal, banking on voter fatigue with TMC’s governance.
