Delhi’s law enforcers struck gold in Shahdara, apprehending serial scooter thief Neeraj (26), also known by aliases Modi, Nodi, and Nody. The bust uncovered three stolen vehicles and linked him to four theft reports, easing concerns amid a surge in auto lifting incidents.

It all began with Raj Kumar’s March 18 online report of his missing scooter, prompting an e-FIR at Fars Bazar thana under BNS 305(B). A crack team, headed by Inspector Ajay Karan Sharma and including constables Amit Kumar, Divakar, Ravi Shekhar, and Hemant, dove into the probe. Guided by ACP Sanjeev Kumar and DCP Shahdara, they dissected CCTV clips, identifying Neeraj through sharp surveillance analysis and street intel.

A secret informant tipped off his presence on April 23. Police laid an ambush and caught him red-handed on a pilfered scooter tied to a separate Fars Bazar FIR. Under grilling, Neeraj spilled details on the initial crime and three more, guiding officers to stash spots in Shahdara’s MCD Park and NSA Colony for the additional recoveries.

These breakthroughs cover e-FIRs from Fars Bazar, Krishna Nagar, and MS Park. With a rap sheet boasting 12 prior thefts, Neeraj’s capture disrupts a persistent threat. Delhi Police vows intensified patrols and tech-driven ops to deter future heists, restoring commuter confidence.
