The Indian government has achieved a remarkable milestone in combating gas cylinder fraud, reporting that DAC-enabled LPG deliveries have exceeded 94.5%. Coupled with this, online bookings for LPG cylinders hit 99% penetration industry-wide on Friday, signaling a digital revolution in fuel distribution.

From April 1 onwards, the market has seen sales of more than 18.63 lakh 5-kg FTL cylinders. Friday’s figures were impressive too, with about 80,000 units reaching consumers across India.

Public sector OMCs have been proactive, conducting over 8,770 awareness drives since early April, which led to 1.38 lakh 5-kg cylinder sales. On the latest day, 230+ camps distributed 5,717 cylinders, building grassroots trust.

April’s commercial LPG dispatch reached 155,524 MT till April 24, matching 81.85 lakh 19-kg cylinders in volume. PNG infrastructure is expanding rapidly: 5.36 lakh connections activated in 2026 so far, plus 2.61 lakh ready, totaling nearly 8 lakh.

Customer engagement is high, with 6.05 lakh new registrations and 42,280 LPG surrenders via web portal. CGD firms are offering promotions for domestic and commercial PNG, ensuring full supply for household and CNG transport needs.

With calls for accelerated approvals from state authorities, this initiative is set to reshape energy access, reduce black marketing, and drive sustainable growth in the LPG and PNG sectors.
