A late-night fire at the Koderma Railway Station parking facility caused a brief period of panic among railway staff and local residents. The fire started at the southern end of the station’s parking lot at around 2:30 AM on Wednesday. While the cause of the fire remains unknown, its intensity posed a severe threat to both public and private property. The site contained expensive railway electrical cables, as well as several vehicles that were at risk of being completely incinerated.
The fire department’s rapid intervention was the key to saving these assets. It took nearly an hour and a half of intensive firefighting efforts to douse the flames completely. Because the incident occurred in the middle of the night, the parking area was mostly empty, which successfully averted any potential casualties. Railway officials have since inspected the site and confirmed that while the scare was significant, the swift action of the fire brigade minimized the overall loss. Safety protocols are being reviewed to ensure such incidents do not recur in the future.
