A terrifying safety lapse at the Bokaro Thermal Power Plant has come to light after a goods train became uncontrolled, leading to a harrowing accident. On Sunday afternoon, as the coal-laden train was being backed up, it failed to stop, obliterating the facility’s heavy metal gate. A parked Scorpio SUV was caught in the train’s path and was dragged for a staggering 400 meters, leaving the vehicle completely mangled. The driver of the car saved his life by jumping out of the vehicle in the nick of time. Senior officials from the Indian Railways and the CISF have arrived at the scene to determine if the mishap was caused by a technical glitch in the engine’s reversing mechanism or operational negligence.
