The upcoming Chitrapat Jharkhand Film Festival, scheduled for June 26-28, 2026, is set to become a hub for emerging and creative cinematic voices. According to Festival Director Nand Kumar Singh, the primary objective is to encourage filmmakers to present their creative expressions effectively to society. The festival will categorize screenings into three main segments: Short Films with a maximum duration of 20 minutes, Documentaries up to 30 minutes, and Campus Films created by students not exceeding 15 minutes. To further support the filmmaking community, the organizers have announced a total prize pool of ₹2,70,000. This initiative is expected to foster a sense of responsibility and thoughtfulness in modern regional cinema while celebrating the unique cultural identity of Jharkhand.
