Defying geopolitical headwinds from West Asia, Indian equities bounced back decisively on Wednesday. The BSE Sensex rocketed 609.45 points (0.79%) to close at 77,496.36, recovering from Tuesday’s losses. NSE’s Nifty 50 advanced 181.95 points (0.76%) to 24,177.65. Investors cashed out profits near peaks, leading to a pullback from daily highs, but smallcaps outperformed with 0.65% growth. Nifty 50 gainers included ITC, Tech Mahindra, and Coal India, while laggards were led by Indigo and Dr. Reddy’s.
