The MCB Ladies Classic 2026 wrapped up with heartbreak for India’s golf stars, as Smilla Tarnung Sonderby from Denmark mastered the final round to secure the championship at Port Louis’ prestigious Legend Course.
Diksha Dagar entered the last day full of promise after back-to-back strong scores, but a 74 marred by missed opportunities saw her settle for T21. Tvesa Malik’s 73 after 70-71 left her T38, while Hitashi Bakshi plummeted to T58 with a 76 following her early flair.
Sonderby’s triumph was a masterclass in composure. Her 67 featured an eagle on six after a shaky bogey, birdies flowing steadily. The back-nine drama peaked with a bogey on 14 recovered by birdies on 15 and the decisive 18th, her mother’s caddying adding emotional depth to the 14-under victory.
Kajsa Arwefjall’s pristine 66 led the clubhouse at 13-under, equaled by Cassandra Alexander’s thrilling finish. Anna Januso’s bogey-free 63 etched her name in course history, solo fourth. A quintet at 10-under shared fifth: Hewson, Laisne, Rudgeley, Forsterling, and Sattelkau.
As the Ladies European Tour takes a brief hiatus, eyes turn to Hamburg’s Amundi German Masters next week, where redemption awaits.
