Haryana shooter Kanak stole the show at the 24th KSS Memorial Shooting Championship, pocketing two gold medals in 10m Air Pistol events on Monday at Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range. She first earned silver in the Women’s category behind Rajasthan’s Anjali Shekhawat (240.5 gold, Kanak 238.7), with Punjab’s Agam Ranjit Kaur Greval at 216 for bronze.

Qualifiers saw intense battles: Isha Singh led with 582-20x, but skipped finals alongside Mahima Turhi Agrawal. Kanak advanced from sixth (576-13x). Yuvika Tomar (196.1, fourth), Muskan Chahal (174.8, fifth), and Muskan (154.8, sixth) followed in the final standings.

Kanak then turned it around in Junior Women’s, clinching gold at 238.4 over Priyanshi Purva’s 237.5 silver and Ketan’s 216.8 bronze—all Haryana athletes. Her dominance continued in Youth Women’s with a stellar 244.3, outpacing Navya (237.7 silver) and Anjali Mahendra Bhagwat (215.3 bronze).

Team glory went to Haryana’s Priyanshi, Navya, and Surbhi Rao (1718.0-48x gold), narrowly beating Railways’ Yuvika Tomar, Sakshi Anil Suryavanshi, and Riya Shirish Thatte (1710.0-40x silver), and UP’s Vanshipka Chaudhary, Sanskriti Bana, and Anjali Chaudhary (1709.0-50x bronze). This championship underscores Haryana’s stronghold in shooting and the emergence of multi-medal talents like Kanak.
