A sudden change in weather patterns has brought a temporary reprieve from the scorching summer heat in Jharkhand. Over the last 24 hours, several districts have reported a temperature drop of 3 to 4 degrees Celsius following scattered rainfall. In the capital city of Ranchi, the maximum temperature was recorded at 38.2 degrees Celsius, while Seraikela saw the state’s highest at 41.8 degrees. However, the cooling trend is expected to intensify as the weather office predicts continued fluctuations until the end of April. An orange alert is currently in place, highlighting the risk of hailstorms and severe thunderstorms across the central belt. While the drop in mercury is welcomed by residents, the accompanying high-velocity winds and lightning pose risks to property and safety, necessitating heightened vigilance across the state.
