Raipur, April 18, 2026/ A foundation stone ceremony for infrastructure development works for the establishment of a new industrial area in village Gopalpur, under Darri tehsil of Korba district, was organized under the chief patronage of Commerce, Industry, Labor, Excise and Public Undertakings Minister Shri Lakhan Lal Dewangan. Minister Shri Dewangan performed the foundation stone laying for the infrastructure development works with proper rituals. This industrial area will strengthen the regional economy by encouraging the establishment of small, medium, and large industries.
Present on the occasion were Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation Limited Shri Rajiv Agrawal, MLA Katghora Shri Premchand Patel, Mayor Smt. Sanju Devi Rajput, Zila Panchayat President Dr. Pawan Singh, Collector Shri Kunal Dudawat, Managing Director CSIDC Raipur Shri Vishwesh Kumar, Municipal Commissioner Shri Ashutosh Pandey, Additional Collector Shri Devendra Patel, along with other public representatives, departmental officers, Chamber of Commerce, and a large number of common citizens.
Addressing the program, Minister Shri Dewangan said that the foundation stone laying for the infrastructure development works of the new industrial area in Gopalpur is not just the beginning of a project, but a strong foundation for Korba’s bright future. It is a matter of pride for Korba that a new industrial area is being developed in the district today after 1980. This industrial area, which will be developed on approximately 10.900 hectares (27 acres) of land at a cost of 10.59 crore, will give a new direction to the industrial development of Korba district.
This project will boost investment in the region and create new employment opportunities for local youth. He said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and under the capable leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai in the state, priority is being given to the expansion of industries and infrastructure development.
Minister Shri Dewangan stated that the state’s new industrial policy has been formulated keeping in mind the interests of investors and the general public. Through the Single Window System, the processes for establishing industries have now become simple, transparent, and time-bound, which will prevent investors from facing unnecessary difficulties. The land allotment process has been made completely online, which will increase transparency and reduce the possibilities of corruption. Specifically, a provision has been made to provide land for just Rs 1 to encourage entrepreneurs from Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes, so that they too can become self-reliant and actively participate in industrial development. He said that we all have to work together to realize the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s “Developed India 2047”. With this resolve, the goal of “Developed Chhattisgarh 2047” and “Developed Korba 2047” will be achieved.
CSIDC Chairman Shri Agrawal said that the state’s new industrial policy has been formulated with the objective of encouraging youth and budding entrepreneurs, so that new industries are established and vast employment opportunities are created. Plots will be allotted to 44 units in this new industrial area of Gopalpur. This will accelerate industrial activities here and provide employment opportunities for local youth right here.
He informed that under the policy, the land allotment process has been simplified and made transparent to attract industries. Also, eligible units are being provided assistance/subsidy up to approximately 65 percent of the total investment through various incentives. He said that Korba will no longer be limited to coal and power generation but will be developed as a major hub for diverse industries. Finally, he wished all entrepreneurs well.
MD Shri Kumar wished everyone well on announcing the development of the new industrial area in an area of approximately 11 hectares. He informed that the new industrial area development is in the tender process from proposal to execution. The work will be carried forward in a transparent and systematic manner. Under the new industrial policy, special incentives are being given to MSMEs, new industries, and startups, which will help in establishing various types of industries and create vast employment opportunities. Additionally, through the “One Click Single Window” system, all necessary processes have been made simple, fast, and easy, so that investors and entrepreneurs can get all facilities on a single platform.
