The Samastipur police have launched a high-level investigation into the death of a woman in Liloh village after her remains were retrieved from a grave 33 days after her death. The family of the deceased alleged that she was murdered by her husband’s family over dowry demands and buried without their knowledge. Superintendent of Police Arvind Pratap Singh ordered the exhumation after the family reported that local police at the Singhia station and the Rosera DSP office had initially ignored their complaints. Forensic experts are now examining the remains. The in-laws are reportedly missing, and the police have formed teams to track them down as the investigation intensifies.
