In a devastating accident reported from the Sitamarhi district of Bihar, a gas cylinder leak led to the death of two family members on Friday night. The incident occurred in the Pupri police station jurisdiction when a fire broke out during cooking. The victims have been identified as 50-year-old Vinod Kumar and his youngest daughter, Jyoti Kumari, aged 10. According to local reports, the fire started due to a leakage in the LPG cylinder, which quickly turned the small house into a furnace.

While the mother was away on an errand, the young girl was reportedly cooking when the leakage occurred. Despite being able to run out initially, the young girl’s devotion to her ailing father led her back into the burning house. Vinod Kumar, who was bedridden due to illness, could not escape on his own. The tragic turn of events saw both of them trapped as the fire spread across the thatched roof. Local authorities and fire tenders reached the site after being alerted by neighbors, but they were unable to save the duo. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem, and the police are investigating the exact circumstances that led to the fatal leakage.
