The Israel Defense Forces unleashed a barrage of airstrikes on Saturday, claiming to have obliterated 120 Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon. This aggressive campaign wiped out 70 buildings repurposed for military use and 50 other group facilities, hitting them hard across multiple zones.
According to IDF updates, the strikes zeroed in on high-value targets like command centers, arms storage, and fighter support structures. A standout success was the takedown of a fully armed rocket launcher aimed at Israel, preventing a potential attack.
Hezbollah’s persistent breaches of ceasefire pacts were cited as justification, with the group having fired rockets and drones that fell perilously close to IDF operations in the region. IDF forces intercepted one such rocket and neutralized two incoming aerial intruders short of the border.
Shifting focus to internal security, Friday’s IDF statement revealed a sweeping crackdown in Judea and Samaria, where over 80 suspects were nabbed in coordinated raids. The haul included a shooter who targeted troops, Hamas backers, weapons hoarders, IED crafters, rock hurlers, and firebomb tossers.
Forces confiscated about 20 firearms—from improvised Carlos to sophisticated M-16s and pistols—alongside bullets, tactical equipment, and agitprop. Production machines for guns and munitions, seven UAVs, and assembled bombs rounded out the seizures. Suspects face ongoing probes, with armaments forwarded to specialized police units.
As regional hostilities simmer, these operations underscore Israel’s multi-front strategy to dismantle terror networks and deter aggression, ensuring security for its citizens amid volatile threats.
