Madhya Pradesh’s Alirajpur district witnessed a horrific road accident on Sunday night, claiming the lives of three teenage boys in a brazen hit-and-run by an unknown speeding vehicle. The collision happened close to Chuliya village in the Bori police jurisdiction as the minors were returning home from a wedding celebration.

Police confirmed the deceased as 14-year-old Anil of Devdha, 17-year-old Roshan of Badi Beed, and 14-year-old Sawan of Ratanpura. Crammed on one motorcycle, the trio was followed by friends on a second bike when the tragedy struck. The force of the crash killed two instantly, and the third succumbed to injuries shortly after being taken to hospital.

The driver of the errant vehicle fled without offering aid, leaving the scene in chaos. Authorities have filed charges under hit-and-run provisions and are combing through local CCTV recordings while questioning witnesses. Senior police personnel inspected the accident spot and offered sympathies to the bereaved families.

Local residents are furious, pointing to the dangerous road conditions—lack of speed bumps and inadequate streetlights—as contributing factors. They have urged the district administration to install speed breakers and improve illumination immediately. ‘We can’t lose more children like this,’ one villager lamented.

Investigators revealed the boys were guests at a Chuliya village wedding. In a public plea, police are urging anyone with details about the vehicle or driver to come forward. This fatal mishap highlights the perilous state of rural roads in MP, where reckless driving continues to exact a heavy toll on the young and vulnerable.
