Horror struck the family of businessman Sammelal Kashyap in Janjgir-Champa when three unidentified gunmen entered their residence during the early hours of Friday. The assailants targeted Kashyap’s two sons, Ayush and Ashutosh, while they were in their room. Ayush succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds, while Ashutosh survived the attack with an injury to his hand. According to family members, the gunmen demanded cash and mobiles, but the fact that they only took about 60 rupees and a single mobile phone has led the police to suspect that robbery might have been a cover for a deeper motive or personal enmity.
