The Indian Meteorological Department has warned of intense weather activity across 15 states, ranging from high-velocity winds to sudden downpours. The plains of Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh are under watch from May 3 to 6, with thunderstorms and lightning expected. Wind gusts in these regions could reach an alarming 70 kilometers per hour. Meanwhile, western regions like Rajasthan are expecting dust storms and rain in the coming days, which should help bridge the extreme temperature gap currently seen across the state. The eastern part of the country, including West Bengal and Odisha, is also on high alert for thunderstorms and lightning.
