Ayodhya’s spiritual leaders have sparked intrigue with their divided opinions on West Bengal’s assembly election exit polls, just after the second phase voting wrapped up on 142 seats. In a candid conversation on Wednesday, Hanumangarhi’s Dr. Deveshacharya Maharaj and Arya Sant Varun Das Maharaj dissected the political buzz surrounding the polls.

Dr. Deveshacharya didn’t mince words about his faith in change. Drawing from spiritual convictions, he foresaw the BJP sweeping to power. He highlighted PM Modi’s and Amit Shah’s reverence for local deities like Maa Kali and Kapil Muni. ‘Their blessings will shape the results positively,’ he affirmed confidently.

Pushing the narrative forward, the Mahant envisioned a majority BJP regime. ‘Steps toward lotus blooming in Bengal are irreversible now,’ he proclaimed, blending faith with political prophecy.

Arya Sant Varun Das, however, adopted a more measured tone. He pointed out the variability in exit polls. ‘Different surveys yield different stories,’ he noted. ‘History shows some hit the mark, others miss wildly.’

Emphasizing democratic maturity, he called for awaiting May 4’s counting. ‘It’s too soon to take trends at face value,’ the saint cautioned. ‘Everyone interprets data their way—it’s part of the democratic spirit. Aspirants need that self-belief, yet final calls come later.’

This divergence from Ayodhya underscores the uncertainty gripping Bengal’s polls. With all eyes on the results, these saintly perspectives highlight the blend of faith, patience, and politics in India’s vibrant democracy.
