Nawada District Magistrate Ravi Prakash made a hands-on inspection of the HPV vaccination campaign at Project Kanya Inter School today. Aimed at protecting teenage girls from human papillomavirus (HPV) infections, the program is a key health department effort to combat cervical cancer.
Prakash examined every aspect of the setup, from staffing to safety protocols, and gave pointed instructions for improvements. He took time to interact with the girls, demystifying HPV in straightforward language and underscoring how vaccination at ages 14-15 can prevent life-threatening illnesses.
‘Cervical cancer, often linked to HPV, is preventable with this safe vaccine,’ the DM told the students. He cautioned against misinformation and encouraged full engagement with the initiative. Directing authorities to intensify outreach, he ensured broader coverage.
The presence of senior officials including the civil surgeon and district education officer highlighted the program’s importance. Prakash reiterated that sustained awareness is crucial for success.
