The second phase of West Bengal’s high-stakes assembly polls kicked off vibrantly on April 29, with 142 constituencies in seven districts seeing brisk voting from morning hours. Ministers, lawmakers, and everyday folks lined up, undeterred by the heat.

Bollywood legend Mithun Chakraborty, now a prominent BJP figure, joined the fray at his polling booth. The ‘Disco Star’ exuded confidence post-vote: ‘Bengal is on the cusp of a transformative deluge.’

Assuring impartiality, he highlighted, ‘Polls are fair, security impeccable—expect flawless progression.’ Gauging the throngs, he forecasted record turnout: ‘Surpassing phase one, we’ll hit over 90%. This heralds change, but pre-results, I hold back per protocol.’

Stepping back from contesting, Chakraborty’s star power fuels BJP’s outreach. Rallying tirelessly, he’s lambasted TMC. In a pointed interview, he cautioned a TMC win spells doom for Hindus like himself, prompting exodus.

Dismissing TMC’s scare tactics on dietary restrictions, Chakraborty clarified: ‘Fish and meat are unrestricted across India, save beef bans for sacred cows. TMC’s left with falsehoods to stir unrest.’

With BJP eyeing a regime change after TMC’s dominance, Chakraborty’s bold words amplified the phase’s fervor, as Bengal’s electorate signaled potential upheaval through swelling voter lines.
