Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu did not hold back in crediting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for the state’s impressive infrastructure strides, as he unveiled the state-of-the-art Arunachal Bhawan in Dheerpur, New Delhi, this Sunday.
Speaking at the event, Khandu revealed that Rs 4,900 crore allocated via the 15th Finance Commission will be channeled into addressing key infrastructural shortcomings and fast-tracking growth initiatives, a move that promises to reshape the northeastern state’s connectivity and amenities.
This latest addition bolsters Arunachal’s presence in Delhi with a fourth dedicated facility, reflecting years of strategic investment in out-of-state support systems for its residents. From Assam’s bustling cities to major hubs like Bodh Gaya, Bengaluru, and Mumbai, these bhavans serve as lifelines offering accommodation and vital services.
In his address, Khandu extended thanks to everyone who made the project possible and underscored how such centers alleviate hardships for medical tourists and aspiring students flocking to the capital.
The bhawan’s patient-friendly features, including tailored accommodations, will be a game-changer for those battling health issues far from home. Proximity to North Campus universities adds another layer of utility, aiding students with secure lodging during crucial admission periods.
Looking ahead, the CM outlined plans for thorough audits in emerging districts such as Pakke-Kessang, Kamle, Lepa-Rada, and Shi-Yomi, focusing on plugging infra gaps and staffing shortages. This approach will be replicated in veteran districts to foster equitable development across Arunachal.
Khandu urged a focus on smart governance, advocating for innovative revenue streams to sustain these assets long-term, signaling a robust vision for self-reliant progress in the state.
