The UAE has announced the complete lifting of temporary airspace curbs, paving the way for unrestricted flight operations. Indian airlines stand to gain the most, with capacity to ramp up services to the Gulf nation and beyond.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs’ Sunday statement, this reflects stabilizing conditions across the Middle East. Regular flights have resumed from key regional airports to India’s major urban centers.
Operations from Saudi Arabia and Oman remain steady, connecting to diverse Indian gateways. Qatar operates with partial airspace access, where Air India, Air India Express, IndiGo, and Qatar Airways are actively flying to Indian routes.
Kuwait and Bahrain have open airspaces, supporting airlines such as Jazeera Airways, Kuwait Airways, Air India Express, IndiGo, and Gulf Air on India-bound flights.
Limited access persists in Iraq for regional hops usable for India connections, and Iran allows select cargo and charters. Travelers are warned against visiting Iran; residents should use land exits aided by the embassy, which has already facilitated the departure of 2,504 Indians.
Israel supports limited regional services that aid travel to India. Amid ongoing vigilance, the MEA emphasizes protecting Indian expatriates in West Asia.
As tensions ease, this airspace reopening heralds a new era of enhanced connectivity, benefiting millions of travelers and bolstering economic ties between India and the Middle East.
