A new era dawned in Visakhapatnam as Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Central Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw officiated the foundation laying of Google Cloud’s massive AI Hub. Valued at a staggering $15 billion, this FDI shatters previous records and signals India’s rising stature in artificial intelligence.

The event drew attention to the collaborative efforts of Google, AdaniConneX, and Airtel Nextra. Naidu set an ambitious timeline, calling for inauguration by September 2028, backed by the state’s unwavering assistance. He described the venture as transformative, not only for the port city but for Andhra Pradesh’s future.

Reflecting on his legacy, Naidu reminisced about pioneering Cyberabad’s IT revolution three decades back. ‘That vision created wealth; this one will redefine AI leadership in Asia,’ he stated, projecting the hub as the continent’s premier data center.

With a witty remark, Naidu noted, ‘Google, the ultimate search tool, has now found its perfect match in Andhra Pradesh.’ He touted Vizag’s readiness, from infrastructure to water security, pledging Godavari supply in under two months.

Naidu revealed plans to integrate the AI hub into governance, enhancing efficiency and decision-making.

Vaishnaw provided national context, lamenting India’s past oversights in semiconductors and hardware. Yet, ‘Make in India’ has flipped the script: electronics now dominate exports. In today’s volatile geopolitics, India stands as the trusted hub for secure IT infrastructure.

Prime Minister Modi’s foresight positions India at the forefront of tech evolution. As construction begins, expectations soar for job creation, skill development, and positioning Vizag as a global AI powerhouse.
