Severe Heat Grips Jharkhand as Daltonganj Records 42.1 Degrees

Mercury levels in Jharkhand have hit a new seasonal high, with Daltonganj recording a blistering 42.1 degrees Celsius. The state is currently under the grip of a harsh heatwave, with the weather office identifying eight districts where the conditions are expected to be most severe through April 21. Among those on alert are East and West Singhbhum, Khunti, and Palamu. While Daltonganj boiled, Gumla recorded the state’s lowest temperature at 17.7 degrees Celsius. In urban hubs like Jamshedpur and Bokaro, the maximum temperatures reached 36.4 and 38.2 degrees respectively. Health experts urge citizens to consume plenty of fluids during peak hours.
