The political storm over the Women’s Reservation Bill intensified as BJP’s Shaina NC launched a scathing attack on the opposition, labeling them as misogynists for derailing the historic legislation. In Mumbai on Saturday, she dissected their objections during a media briefing.
“After decades of delay, the bill offered 33% seats for women by expanding the Lok Sabha and assemblies—no man’s seat was touched. Yet, the opposition cried foul over census, redrawing boundaries, and sub-quotas for marginalized groups,” she remarked. “Their strategy reveals a deep-seated bias against women. Shame on Rahul Gandhi, Akhilesh Yadav, and MK Stalin for this betrayal.”
Shaina accused them of panic, inventing pretexts because they lacked a coherent stance. “It was all theatrics—no real intent to uplift women. The opposition is fundamentally opposed to gender parity.”
Turning to accolades for PM Modi, she lauded his bold vision. “In a patriarchal society, he championed ‘Nari Shakti Vandan’ and initiatives like Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, proving his faith in transformative change. As India advances, empowered women will be its backbone.”
From Bengaluru, BJP’s Malvika Avinash added fuel to the fire, criticizing opposition women for patriarchal views. “Men from Congress and SP might be excused, but women peddling the same nonsense is unforgivable. Modi’s quip about crediting Parliament shows true statesmanship—contrast that with the opposition’s hypocrisy.”
This clash highlights ongoing battles for women’s political representation, with BJP framing the opposition as obstacles to progress.
