Raipur, April 16, 2026/
Realizing the vision and commitment to rural prosperity of Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai, Panari Nala in Gram Panchayat Pahad Amorani (Sarasor) under Janpad Panchayat Bhaiya than in Surajpur district has been successfully renovated under MNREGA.
More than 1200 villagers are directly benefiting from this work, which was carried out under the guidance of Collector Mr. S. Jayavardhan and District Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Mr. Vijendra Patle.
New life for the drain through silt removal and stop dam repair
Under this work, 156 man-days of employment were generated. The drain was revived by removing silt, and water conservation was ensured by repairing the previously constructed stop dam.
As a result, the water level in the drain is currently recorded at about 2 meters, leading to a significant improvement in water availability in the area.
Relief from drinking water crisis, livestock also benefiting
With the rise in the water level of the drain, villagers of Gram Panchayat Pahad Amorani are easily getting drinking water from handpumps and other water sources.
Additionally, the water requirement of about 200 livestock is also being met from this water source, providing great relief to the cattle rearers.
Agriculture boosted, farmers’ income increased
The revival of the drain has directly benefited the farmers in the area. 26 farmers are cultivating rabi-khairf crops as well as seasonal vegetables on approximately 20 hectares of land.
Vegetables produced by farmers Lambelal, Nandlal, and Ramdhan of the village are being sold in Chandmena market, earning them a good income.
Significant initiative towards rural self-reliance
Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai has a clear vision that farmers in rural, tribal, and forest-dwelling areas become self-reliant and the benefits of government schemes reach them directly.
This renovation work of Panari Nala is an excellent example of simultaneously achieving the three objectives of employment generation, water conservation, and agricultural development through MNREGA.
