Raipur April 16, 2026/ Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai today launched the census campaign by doing online self-enumeration under Census 2027 at the Chief Minister’s residence in the capital Raipur. During this, he himself entered his information on the portal and gave a message to the citizens for active participation in this national work.
Chief Minister Mr. Vishnudeo Sai said that the world’s largest census campaign is being conducted in India and the process of online self-enumeration has also started in Chhattisgarh from today. He said that citizens can enter information related to their family themselves through the online portal between April 16 and April 30, 2026. He said that this time the census has been given a modern and digital form, making the process more transparent and accessible.
Chief Minister Mr. Sai said that census is not just a collection of data, but a basis for determining the future direction of the country and the state. Based on this data, the government prepares plans for the coming years, so that the benefits of development can effectively reach every section. The Chief Minister informed that the first phase of the census will start from May 1, 2026, in which house listing and counting will be done. Till May 30, enumerators will visit door-to-door and collect information related to residential and non-residential buildings, their condition, use and basic facilities like drinking water, toilet, electricity, cooking gas, internet and communication system.
Appealing to the people of the state, he said that whenever enumerators come to their homes, they should give them correct, clear and complete information, because every piece of information plays an important role in determining the direction of the state’s development. He said that all personal information provided during the census is kept completely confidential and will be used only for statistical and policy purposes.
Chief Minister said that Chhattisgarh is moving rapidly on the path of development and census has an important role in realizing the resolve of “Developed Chhattisgarh 2047”. Accurate data lays the foundation for better planning and effective development. He appealed to all the citizens of the state to make this grand campaign a festival of public participation and to provide active cooperation.
During this, Additional Chief Secretary and Census Nodal Mr. Manoj Kumar Pingua, Collector Raipur Dr. Gaurav Kumar Singh, Director Census Mr. Kartikeya Goyal and other officials were present.
