In a significant move for the newly formed Bihar government, Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary has officially distributed ministerial responsibilities. The notification released by the state government reveals that the Chief Minister has kept a lion’s share of departments, totaling 29. These include high-stakes ministries like Home, Vigilance, Mining, and Industry. The decision to keep these departments suggests the CM’s intent to lead from the front on issues of security and economic development. Additionally, the CM will oversee the Panchayati Raj, Environment, and Tourism sectors, indicating a focus on both grassroots governance and ecological sustainability.

Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Chaudhary has been assigned 10 departments, notably Water Resources, Building Construction, and Parliamentary Affairs. His role will be pivotal in managing the state’s infrastructure and legislative processes. On the other hand, the second Deputy CM, Vijendra Prasad Yadav, has been given the charge of 8 departments. His portfolios include Energy, Planning & Development, and Finance, making him a central figure in the state’s economic planning. This allocation marks the first major administrative step for the Samrat Chaudhary government, which took charge on April 15, and sets the tone for the state’s policy direction for the coming years.
