The Ranchi police have apprehended a notorious fraudster who allegedly cheated job seekers out of nearly 80 lakh rupees by promising them positions in the Indian Army. The suspect, identified as Arvind Prasad, was the kingpin of a gang that exploited the aspirations of young men looking to join the Agniveer program. The arrest follows a detailed investigation triggered by a formal complaint from a victim, which led to the uncovering of an interstate racket. During the raid at a rented house in Chutia’s Sharda Colony, the SIT recovered numerous forged documents including fake recruitment cards and digital evidence.
