Jabalpur’s Bargi Dam became the site of a heartbreaking cruise mishap, prompting urgent logistical arrangements to return victims’ remains to their loved ones. The district administration has prioritized smooth repatriation processes.

Public Relations Department updates confirm that three bodies departed Jabalpur Airport at 8 AM on Saturday aboard a regular Indigo flight to Delhi, following complete procedural clearances.

In the evening, at 3:20 PM, two additional bodies were airlifted to Coimbatore, with two relatives traveling alongside to manage funeral arrangements.

Recapping the tragedy: Thursday evening saw a cruise with 41 onboard sink abruptly. Nine deaths verified, four missing—including three kids and one grown-up. Search efforts persist relentlessly.

Twenty-eight passengers were pulled to safety promptly post-incident. Interrogations are underway to piece together the sequence of events leading to the capsize.

Speaking exclusively, Bargi Zone CSP Anjul Ayank Mishra noted the filing of a CrPC 174 report. ‘Detailed investigations await full recovery of bodies and missing persons,’ he emphasized.

Intensified rescue ops involve military scuba teams, NDRF personnel, and local forces. The search radius now spans nearly 5 km downstream, navigating treacherous river flows and profound depths, underscoring the operation’s complexity.
