The latest WTA rankings paint a picture of stability at the summit with Aryna Sabalenka firmly entrenched as world No. 1 for the 90th week overall. Opting out of Stuttgart Open, the Belarusian powerhouse preserved her substantial edge over Elena Rybakina, who fought back with a prestigious Porsche Grand Prix crown. Rybakina’s straight-sets victory over Karolina Muchova in the final boosted her tally, securing the No. 2 spot with her 13th career title.

Sabalenka’s lead, though trimmed slightly, remains a daunting 2,395 points. Meanwhile, the battle for No. 3 intensified as both Coco Gauff and Iga Swiatek stumbled in Stuttgart quarters. Swiatek’s upset loss to rising star Mira Andreeva propelled the 17-year-old Russian to a stunning No. 8 debut, reshaping the top 10.

Karolina Muchova capitalized on her runner-up finish, climbing to No. 11 and eyeing top-10 glory after triumphs over top seeds. Across the channel in Rouen, Marta Kostyuk etched her name in history with a second WTA trophy, overcoming fellow Ukrainian Veronika Podrez in a landmark all-Ukrainian showdown. Kostyuk vaulted to No. 23, while Podrez soared 62 rungs to No. 147.

The rankings shuffle extended further: Tatjana Maria reached No. 54 via Rouen semis, Zeynep Sonmez hit No. 67 with a historic top-10 scalp, and Alicia Parks landed at No. 84. Maja Chwalinska’s WTA 125 conquest earned her No. 118, as Sara Sorribes Tormo and Elena Kovachkova celebrated personal milestones. Jelena Ostapenko tumbled to No. 40, highlighting the tour’s cutthroat competition.
