At the prestigious ‘Save the Earth’ summit in New Delhi, Maharashtra Cabinet Minister Ashish Jaiswal showered accolades on Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, calling him a beacon of visionary leadership. Jaiswal was particularly impressed by Gadkari’s detailed address on Wednesday, which he said exemplifies the minister’s ability to guide India towards a greener future.
‘Despite his national responsibilities, Gadkari has pioneered groundbreaking projects in Nagpur, setting benchmarks for innovation-driven development,’ Jaiswal noted. Turning to state initiatives, the minister detailed Maharashtra’s proactive steps in environmental stewardship, including comprehensive plans for afforestation and water resource management.
A key cabinet proposal is on the horizon, promising massive implementation to transform the state into an environmental model. Jaiswal stressed the dual focus: ‘Development without compromising our legacy – that’s our mantra.’ Under the ambitious ‘Save the Earth’ drive, linked to ‘Developed Maharashtra 2047’, the state aims to plant 300 crore saplings, supported by budgetary allocations and successes in areas like mining rehabilitation.
Pasha Patel, former MLC, joined the chorus, praising Gadkari’s biofuel advocacy. He highlighted Delhi’s alarming pollution levels, where experts warn of a 12-year drop in life expectancy for rural migrants, urging a nationwide ‘Save the Earth’ movement to combat carbon emissions.
