Haryana’s Nuh is poised to host one of the season’s marquee events with the DP World PGTI announcing the DP World Players Championship, scheduled from April 21-24 at Classic Golf and Country Club. With a lucrative Rs 1 crore prize fund, the tournament promises fierce competition among 130 professional golfers.

Headlining the Indian contingent are seasoned pros Veer Ahlawat, Om Prakash Chouhan, and Manu Gandas, all past Order of Merit toppers. Saptak Talwar leads the 2026 merit list, while Khalin Joshi and Hani Baidsoya bring fresh momentum as this season’s winners. Angad Cheema, with two triumphs last year, adds depth to the star-studded lineup.

Sri Lankan ace N Thangaraja, boasting three PGTI victories from the previous season, emerges as the top foreign challenge. Local pride shines through with Gurugram-Nuh natives Dhruv Shyoran and Tapendra Ghai, PGTI champions, NextGen stars Manish Thakran and Shivendra Singh Sisodia, and rising talents Kushal Singh, Manav Bais, and Saurav Rathi all confirmed to play.

The buzz around this championship is amplified by Shubhankar Sharma’s recent masterclass at the Boulders Classic in Hyderabad. The Chandigarh golfer, aged 29, sealed his seventh PGTI crown with a blistering 25-under 263, including a final-round 67, shattering records on DP World Tour and PGTI circuits alike—eight strokes ahead of rivals.

Earning Rs 15 lakh, this win snaps an eight-year PGTI title gap since Kolkata in 2017, following his 2018 Maybank Championship success. Sharma’s resurgence sets a high bar as Nuh prepares to welcome the nation’s golf elite, potentially crowning new heroes amid the rolling fairways.
