A glittering inauguration saw MCA chief Ajinkya Naik, special guest Rajeev Kulkarni – the former India all-rounder – Diana Edulji, the trailblazing former captain, and other MCA officials like Secretary Prof. Dr. Unmesh Khanvilkar, Joint Secretary Nilesh Bhosle, and Treasurer Armaan Malik in attendance.

In his address, Naik underscored its role: ‘This trophy strengthens our domestic structure, giving young guns a chance to shine and franchises vital data points pre-league. We’re committed to nurturing talent and preserving Mumbai’s cricket heritage.’

Kulkarni added his insights: ‘Pre-league tournaments like this are game-changers. They build player confidence, team synergy, and set high standards for the T20 Mumbai League’s success.’

Eight powerhouse teams, picked from T20 Mumbai League-registered players by MCA selectors, will clash at four top-notch venues: MCA BKC, Sachin Tendulkar Gymkhana in Kandivali, Thane’s Dadaji Konddev Stadium, and Mahalaxmi’s Western Railway ground.

Beyond the thrill of competition, the event is a scouting paradise for franchises eyeing the upcoming auction. Emerging players get real-match exposure to hone skills, while teams test combinations and strategies.

Expect strategic masterclasses and breakout performances as this tournament shapes the narrative for the T20 Mumbai League. It’s more than a warm-up – it’s the spark that ignites Mumbai’s T20 fervor, promising non-stop excitement for cricket enthusiasts.
