Raipur is set to host not just an IPL blockbuster but also a celebration of scholastic brilliance. The Chhattisgarh government has decided to treat merit holders from the recent 10th and 12th board results to live action of Mumbai Indians versus Royal Challengers Bangalore at the local international stadium on May 10.
This rewarding move highlights the state’s commitment to motivating students beyond classrooms. In 10th board exams, 3.21 lakh candidates took the test, resulting in 77.15% passing, with 42 securing merit spots—26 of them girls. The 12th boards saw 2.44 lakh participants succeed at 83.04%.
CM Vishnu Dev Sai hailed the results as a testament to robust education infrastructure and parental support. He views it as more than individual triumphs; it’s a milestone for Chhattisgarh’s progress. Toppers will also receive monetary incentives of up to 1.5 lakh rupees through a special scheme.
IPL’s current season has seen 45 games, with Punjab Kings topping with 6/8 wins. RCB is second (6/9), eyeing playoffs, while MI (2/9) faces a must-win against RCB in Raipur. District education officers have been instructed to coordinate the toppers’ visit seamlessly.
Such innovative rewards bridge academics and entertainment, fostering well-rounded development. As these young stars cheer from the stands, they embody the spirit of perseverance that IPL itself celebrates.
