In a nail-biting finale, Sobo Giants emerged champions of the first-ever Shooting League of Maharashtra, overpowering Palghar Golden Finger 17-7 in the mixed team showdown. Held in Pune, the event captivated audiences and underscored the growing popularity of organized shooting leagues in India.

Securing third place, Amhi Punekar edged out Sangli Alpha Lions 16-14, ensuring a competitive finish to the tournament. This victory not only crowns Sobo Giants but also advances the Shooting League of India (SLI) vision, creating structured opportunities post the Karnataka league’s triumph earlier this year.

By featuring shooters from every corner of Maharashtra—including emerging stars from smaller towns—SLM demonstrated how team formats can elevate participation to professional levels. The league masterfully fused high-octane rivalry with spectator-friendly action, establishing a blueprint for talent development.

Celebrated Olympian Anjali Bhagwat lauded the event’s innovative approach. ‘Exposing shooters to match pressure in front of crowds is invaluable for SLI’s growth and skill refinement,’ she noted.

Deepali Deshpande, ex-Olympian and Arjuna recipient, celebrated the collective push from players, coaches, and officials. ‘The Maharashtra Rifle Association’s synergy shone through in this successful launch.’

Shooter Raunak Pandit pointed to the league’s potential to transform perceptions. ‘These events make shooting engaging and relatable, unlocking Maharashtra’s vast talent pool.’

With SLM’s roaring debut, the stage is set for a proliferation of state leagues, promising to boost fan bases and produce world-class athletes.
