Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district witnessed a thorough security review by police authorities around the sacred Shiv Khori Temple this Wednesday. SSP Mukund Tibrewal spearheaded the initiative, aiming to fortify defenses in light of past threats.

The inspection covered pivotal spots like Domel checkpoint, Ikhani Special Police Post, and Jhandi Morh SPP. With ASP Iftekhar Ahmad and DySP Smriti Sharma in tow, the SSP evaluated manpower deployment, vigilance protocols, and contingency plans in detail.

Directives were clear: establish fixed schedules for area monitoring and extended patrols. Technology integration was highlighted to optimize foot patrols, especially in rugged, isolated areas. Collaboration with locals and Village Defense Committees was urged to amplify effectiveness.

Scrutiny extended to amenities, gear provisions, and nocturnal drills at Ransu Police Station. Malkhana operations, documentation archives, detention facilities, and more received rigorous checks. Proper cataloging of evidence, asset protection, and workspace enhancements were prioritized.

Personnel received mandates for meticulous logging, organized filings, professionalism, responsibility, and rule adherence. This robust assessment reflects Reasi Police’s resolve for proactive law enforcement and unyielding public safety.

Reasi’s strategic importance stems from housing Katra, gateway to the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine, drawing lakhs of pilgrims yearly to Trikuta mountains. The shadow of the June 2024 terror strike on a pilgrim bus—claiming nine lives and injuring dozens before it tumbled into a ravine—necessitates unwavering alertness.
