In a fiery speech at Jaipur’s women empowerment conclave, Rajasthan CM Bhajan Lal Sharma tore into opposition parties over their resistance to the landmark Women’s Reservation Bill. ‘Opposing the rights of half our nation will prove too heavy a burden for you,’ he declared.
The event, ‘Jan Aakrosh Mahila Sammelan’, saw thousands rallying behind the cause. Sharma questioned the opposition’s track record: ‘You’ve mastered vote-bank games, but failed to deliver real opportunities for women when it mattered most.’
Under BJP governance at state and center, initiatives abound for women’s welfare. Yet, Sharma stressed, true development hinges on female participation. ‘Viksit Bharat@2047 remains a distant dream without elevating our mothers and sisters. Our government is committed; the opposition, shamefully, is not.’
Targeting dynastic outfits, he said: ‘They worship family legacies, not the revered women of our tradition. Congress, TMC, SP tremble at the prospect of grassroots women challenging their heirs. BJP embraces all.’
The bill smartly proposed expanding Parliament to accommodate 33% seats for women, preserving current representations and state shares. ‘No MP loses a seat, no state suffers—pure democratic enhancement. Still, opposition played spoilsport.’
Sharma predicted electoral revenge: ‘Nari Shakti will teach these family-first parties a lesson in every poll. We pledge unwavering fight for women’s honor and rights.’ The crowd’s fervor underscored the shifting tides in Indian politics.
